The Power Side of Things
These are simple drop-in replacements for Techne blow molders. We kept the wattage and voltage exactly the same as your current oven. Why? Because you need that specific PET preform temperature to get the bottle right. We use high-wattage quartz to hit those preforms with the short-wave infrared energy they need to heat up fast. Just a heads-up: keep an eye on your power supplies. If your voltage is spiking, it’ll kill any lamp on the market, no matter how well we build it.
Why These Actually Last
Here’s the secret: we used heavy-wall quartz glass. Standard tubes tend to bow and thin out over time, which is exactly when they rupture. We also reinforced the seal where the electrodes meet. In our experience, most tubes fail right at the pinch seal because the vibration of a high-speed line just beats them to death. Our version takes a beating and keeps on ticking.
Getting Them Running
Swapping them is easy. They use standard connectors, so you can get them in and out quickly during your maintenance windows. One thing to watch for: because these reinforced tubes hold onto heat better, your oven’s ambient temperature might creep up a bit. You’ll probably want to tweak your cooling fans to make sure the housing doesn’t get too hot. It’s a fair trade. You stop the unplanned downtime and get a much more stable heat flow.
