If you’ve ever tried to swap out lamps in a Sidel Matrix oven, you know the headache. It’s not just about plugging in something with the right wattage and hoping for the best. If the temperature curve is off, you’re in for a long day of recalibrating everything. That’s why we built our replacement lamps to be a mirror image of the factory specs. Voltage, spectral output, physical size—it’s all a 1:1 match. You just swap them in and get back to work.
The Secret is in the Curve
The SBO 10 uses short-wave infrared to get those PET preforms ready. It’s a delicate balance. If the voltage is even a tiny bit off, you start seeing “cold spots” or uneven heating. We make sure our lamps hit the exact same voltage and wattage as the OEM units. Why? Because the heat density per millimeter has to stay the same. When you wire these in, your controllers stay stable because the power draw is exactly what the system expects. No surprises.

We use high-purity quartz glass because, let’s be honest, blow molding is brutal on equipment. The thermal shock is intense. The connectors are designed for a drop-in fit. You won’t be messing with your wiring harness or trying to make things fit where they don’t belong. And we’re obsessive about the length of the emitter and where the electrodes sit. If the heating element is off by just a few millimeters, your heat distribution shifts. That’s how you end up with inconsistent wall thickness in your bottles. We kept the footprint identical so that doesn’t happen.
Real Talk: The Shop Floor
These lamps are designed for high heat density to keep your cycle times fast. That’s great for production, but it puts a lot of pressure on your oven’s ventilation. Here’s a tip: check your cooling fans. If they’re clogged with dust or starting to fail, these high-output tubes will bake your reflectors. Keep the airflow clean, and your lamps will last much longer. We chose spectral consistency over “boosting” the power. In the real world, stability is what keeps your bottles from deforming. Simple as that.
