Introduction
Picture this: you step out of a shower and get hit with that bone-deep chill. Or you walk into a changing room that feels like a freezer. We built our mirror infrared heaters to kill that feeling dead in its tracks. This isn’t about slowly warming up the air. It’s about delivering warmth straight to the source—to you, to the surfaces around you. The kind of heat you feel instantly. We wanted a system that’s simple to specify, a breeze to wire up, and just plain works when you flip the switch.
What’s Under the Hood
Here’s the secret: we use shortwave, high-intensity radiation. It gets hot, and it gets hot fast. We’re talking about serious power density. A 2500W output—running on 230-240V or 400V—throws off enough heat to make surfaces warm up in seconds. The whole heating element lives inside a compact tube, about 300mm long. That keeps the footprint small and sleek. That compact size is a game-changer. It lets you mount the unit flush against a wall or even build it right into a mirror. And because it’s shortwave, the heat cuts right through moisture. It warms bodies and surfaces directly, not the ceiling air. You feel the warmth exactly where you need it.
The Materials and the Magic
The heating element is a halogen-filled quartz tube. We chose it because it handles extreme heat swings and ramps up lightning-fast. The internal filament runs hot, and the halogen cycle keeps the output stable over the long haul. We also coat the back of the tube (or the inside of the housing) with a reflective layer. This bounces all that infrared energy forward, so you get the most bang for your buck. Installation is a cinch, too. We use standard connectors that electricians already know. The R7s base is common and reliable, making swap-outs quick and easy. It handles the current safely and locks in tight. For more permanent setups, we include solid terminal blocks that give you a clean, vibration-proof connection.
Where It Shines
Think about bathrooms and changing rooms. The real enemy is condensation and that shocking chill after a shower. Our mirror infrared heater focuses on the space where people actually are. It warms you and your surroundings directly, so comfort hits you within seconds. That means fewer slip hazards and a much better experience, all without overloading your electrical system. Now, a heads-up: with 2500W packed into a small space, you get intense heat density. The air right around the unit will warm up. You’ll need to plan for some localized cooling or ventilation to keep the surrounding air in check. Just make sure you give yourself enough mounting distance and airflow so nearby materials don’t get too hot. It’s a perfect drop-in solution for retrofit projects. Engineers get predictable output, easy wiring, and a compact form that fits where space is tight.
Keeping It Real
Let’s be clear: a 2500W shortwave halogen heater is powerful and directional. It’s fantastic for spot heating, but it’s not a replacement for general ventilation or dehumidification. Plan your mounting, spacing, and cooling with that in mind. We build these units to hold up in wet environments, but they still need proper IP-rated housing and solid grounding. Match the voltage and wattage to your load, and the installation will be clean, simple, and reliable.
