
Getting Your Sidel Matrix Heaters Right
Here is the problem with swapping out OEM lamps in a Sidel Matrix oven: if the temperature curve shifts, you’re in trouble. Even a tiny slip in heat density can mess up your preform heating. Suddenly, you’re looking at uneven wall thickness or that annoying pearlescence in your PET bottles. Not a great look.
Why “Close Enough” Isn’t Good Enough

A Quick Reality Check
These shortwave lamps push a massive amount of energy into the preform. Because of that, your oven’s ventilation and cooling fans need to be clean. If your airflow is choked, even a perfect 1:1 replacement is going to run too hot and die young. Keep the fans clear, and you’re golden. We stick to the hard data: the same ohms, the same lumens, and the same thermal ramp-up. You wire it up, run your usual cycle, and the temperature curve stays exactly where it belongs.
